LEGISLATIVE COUNOIL.
Tuesday, November 15. The Council met at 2.30 p.m? PETITION B Numerous potitions ia favor of Bible reading m State schools were presented. THE RABBIT PESJ\ Mr Stevenc moved for the appointment of a Joint Committee for dealing with the rabbit pest. The motion was agreed to after a debate, m the course of which the speakers advocated the appointment of an English expert. REDUCI'ION OF NUMBER OP MEMBERS. Ihe debate on the motion of Sir Fredk, Whitaker for the reduction of the number of members of the Council was resumed by Mr Richmond, who urged that no deadlock or collision botweon the two Chambers was ever likely to occur. While not absolutely favoring nomineeißm, he thought that the majority of the present members would adorn any Chamber of the Legislature. After further diacussion the debate waa adjourned to noxt day. The Counoil adjourned at 446 p.m, to, next day.
