HORSE MARKET.

Mr T Bollock reports for the fortnight ending Saturday, November sth : — On Saturday, October 29 h, th«re was a largo entry •£ horses, viz , 25, but the grpater portion of whioh were of an inferior description, consequently biddings were languid, acid only 8 out of the number ch%> god hand*. Farmers appear just dow to operate very cautiously, ptef erring to put their money in sheep and cattle rather than in purchasing inferior hornes The prio s obtained for thot-e sold were a* follows : — H»oks, £6, £11, and for one of » su; erior 8 ainp up to £19 was obtained ; light harness horses, £6 to £9 5b ; weeds. £2 to £3. ho first class draughts were ■old. Satnrdny, I^ovember sth :- 19 bofses were bronght forward for the day's Bi!e. There was a very good attendance of farmers and other country settlers, t>ut biddings were again slow, as the class of stock offered waa not at all tempting, th*-re being no fir^t-class draughts entered: Out of the J9 offerei, 9 were sold as follows : Medium draught, 7 years old, brought £15 10* ; li^ht harness horses, £7, £8 ; hacks, £8, £9, £9 5h up to £13 ; inferior, from £3 >o £5- Sundries : Saddle, £2 2 ; saddle and bridie, £3 2s 8d ; do, £2 2s 6d j potatoes, 2bs per ton.
