CUSTOMS AND BEER DUTY.
*— _ Wellington, November 4. The Oaetomß revenue collected In the colony last month amounts to £124,098, as agabst £106,866 for the previous month, and £104,910 for tbe corresponding month m 1886. L«st month Anckland contributed £23 736; Wellington, £25 338; Lyttelton. £23,807; and Dunedin £28,916, Tho total amount collected for the *ev?u months of the financial year is £746 645, which is an increase cf about £15,500 over the Treasurer's estimate for that period. The beer doty collected last month waß £4155 ; m September it was £4084 ; and m October, 1886, £4249. In thn month jnat expired Auckland paid £318 ; Wellington £400 ; OhHatchurcb, £882 ; and DuDedin. £934. For the seven month? of the year the amount is £27,444 which shows a deficit of £3472 aa compared with the estimate.
