ACCIDENT AT TINWALD
A rery meUmholy accident happened at Tinwald on Wednesday last. About one o'clock on the day mentioned Mrs Williams, wife of Mr J R. William*, the t renpectod manager for Mr W. Strange, of Ohrlatoburch, was being driven into Ashburton by her son, when tbe traces broke opposite Mr Mark Soott'n Hotel, and let the shafts down. Mra Williams who te about 60 years of age and m very feebln health, was thrown very heavily forward on to her head on the ro»d. Dr Trevor was Bpeedily sent for aod did all he could to render aid to the aoff^rer, but Bhe gradually loa* oonaoiousneßS and up to late last nfght she remained In a totally unooußolous state Her recovery is regarded aa quite hope lacs. It has oast a dep.p gloom over the whole plaoe, everyone holding her m the highest reapect and esteem. "Wry deep sympathy ia felt for the sorrowful family. We are glad to Bay that her son, Reea, who waa driving escaped with a severe shaking. [News arrives m town thle afternoon thst Mrs Willfama died at one o'clock to-day ]
