A team of English cricketers organised by Mr Yernon commenced a match to-day against an eleven representing South Australia. Tho weather was splendid. An excellent wicket was provided, but there was only a poor attendance of the public. The visitors went ia first and were all disposed of for 104, of whioh Stoddart contributed 26, Peel 28, Rawlln 33 The Home team then went to the wickets, and at the olose of the day two wickets wsre down for 64 runs. Lyonß 36 being the best score. Glffan'a bowling for South Australia was very eff ctlve, he having successfully performed the "bat trick." Messrs Shaw and Llllywiiite's team, whloh also arrived by the R.M.S. Iberia, has gone on to Sydney.
