Barman won the long jump, an amateur championship event, with 20 feet. Thore were crowds- of ! competitors for the sprint races, final heats of which will bo run cff to-morrow. The first heats were run m wonderfully i quick time, more than one man getting over the 120 yards from scratch In 12 l-sth seconds There was not a large attendance, but to-morrow, when the amateur ebamplon quarter mile, will be run, it is expected there will be a orowd.
