The tweeds and coatings shown a* the produce of the looms of the Ashburton Factory exhibited great variety of design and pattern, giving . a wide range ot selection suitable for all classes of wearers. Indeed, In point of variety as well as quality, these goods oan successfully oompete with anything whioh oan be imported, while as regards wear they will prove superior to any foreign artlole of a similar class. The beneficial results of Mr Atkinson's management are very apparent, and the Factory Company are to be congratulated on having secured his servioes, while the whole district is greatly, advantaged by the success of its woollen manufactures, whloh already adds to our labor fund over £6000 a year, Mr George Jameson exhibited draia pipes manufactured by Messrs Ford, and Messrs Friedlander BroB 1 . had a quantity of tilei and biioks displayed.
