An agitation has been set on foob to curtail excessive privileges enjoyed ty the Gai Company, and a petition has been largely signed playing for an Amendment Act. In view of the meeting of the Municipal Conference here on Monday week, the Mayor has been directed by the Oounoil to bring before it the advisableness of Introducing l«glahtiou with a view of protecting consumers uf gaa agalust defective meters and gai of Inferior quality.
