The opinion of his Committee is that if they provide the necessary amount for his trip to Sydney, Hearn should be allowed to go there, and do the best he can for tho Colony. While the ship Westland was being towed out today she came into collision with the dredge working the channel, and one of her plates suffered On the voyage from Glasgow of the ship Margaret Galbraith, a seaman named Peddington was engaged m setting up some rigging when she shipped a heavy Bea and washed him overboard. As soon as the cry was raißod the ship was brought to tbe wind and a boat lowered under tbe oharge of the second officer, and m less than twoniy-ono minutes from the time the tne.i was washed overboard he -was back on board the vessel, none the worse, save a good ducking.
