MELBOURNE WOOL SALES.
[bEUTBB's TELEOB4MS— COPYBIGHT.] Melbodkne, Ootober 13. Messrs Goldsborough and Co held their second wool sale of the season yesterday, at which there was a good attendance of home and foreign buyers. The competition was excellent ; 2500 bales were offered, these chiefly were composed of greasy wool, m good condition, from Riverina. Inferior to good greasy ruled from 6j4d to Q^d, and interior to ordinary scoured from lod to 146. 2400 bales were sold. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company held their usual wool sale to-day. There was a large attendance of buyers, including representatives of Home and foreign houses, the former operating freely. The market ruled lower than the opening sale last year, but the tone was much firmer, and competition more spirited, than last week. Prices generally ranged comparatively higher than those obtained m the Home market ; 19,000 bales were offered for sale, greasy wool realising n^d and scoured 14^ d per lb.
