— — .. -^ , The following business was gone through after we went to press yesterday: — BLACK MOUNTAIN TRACK Mr W. Gerard wrote requesting that the Black Mountain Traok which had been damaged by finds should be repaired. He. undertook to have the road repaired for £30. The Council decided to contribute half the amount asked Tor by Mr Gerard to put the traok m order, If the Mount Butt Road Board would contribute the othsr half. HAMPSTBAD WATER SUPFLY. The Bon ugh Council wrote enclosing a copy of their Engineer's report on the matter of water supply for Hampstead. It was decided to forward the report m to the Hampstead Town Board. BOUNDARY ROAD. The Sonth Bakaia Road Board wrote asking the Cjuccll to veet the control of the road between the Rakaia and Wakanui districts m the former body. It wap decided to notify the two Boards interested that the matter would oome before the Council at Its next meeting. WATER RACE FJRD3. The Wakanui Road Board wrote agreeing to undertake the work of looking after water race fords at the expense of the Council. The Bjard also offered to look after culverts. It was resolved to reply that the oulverts would be attended to by the Council. SHALL BIRDS' NUISANCE. The Wakanui Road Board wrote asking if the County Council had any intention of continuing the subsidy of la 6 1 per 100 for small birds' eggs and heads. It was resolved that the . Oomoil grant an amount of Is per 100 It was resolved that any collection found to contain starling's eggs ba not paid for. EX TENSION, The oontraotors for earthwork at Dlgby'a bridga wrote requesting an extension of time for fourteen days, as they had been un.tble to get on with the work owing to bad woathef. GR.WFL MT. The Sruth Rakaia Road Po*rd requested that two no es of Reserve 173 Bhould be laid off f r a gravel pit. The application wns granted. TITLES. The Waitaki County Council wrote requesting the co-operation of the Counoll m bringing under the notice of the Government the need c f legislation (m so far as local bodies are concerned) with reference to the adoptfon of Borne simple ma' hod whereby ti'lea to road lines, exchanged or rtberw se, acquired for public use can be obtained. The letter was referred to the Council's solicitor for his advice m the matter. MOUNT SOMEBS TRAMWAY. Letters from Mr T. Harrison and from the Mount Somers Road Board m reference ti drains being filled up owing to the construction oi the Mount Somers Tramway, were laid on the table till Mr Walker's return. CEMPTERY BOARD. It was decided to communicate with the Mount Somers Road Board m referenoe to filling two vacancies on the Mo ant Somers Cemetery Board. LEAVE OF ABSENCE. Leave of absence during the Parllanrss^i^ session was granted to Mr W. C, Walker. RATE It was resolved that at the next meeting a general rate be proposed to be levied of § of Id m the £, £ for charitable aid purposes aud £ f° r general county expenditure. TENDERS. The following tender was accepted :— Montalto water-race— Fawcatt, £64 6a 4d The Council then adjourned.
