OPENING OF PARLIAMENT.

Wellington, October 6. Parliament waa opened at two o'clock by Commission, and Tuesday, at 2.30 p.m., was appointed the time forbearing the Governor's Bpeech. The members of the Lower House were sworn m by batches of thtee at a time. The next business will be the election of a Speaker. There is a large attendance of members, nearly all being present. The weather "is fine, but m consequence of Parliament not being opened m the usual way, there is not a large attendance of the public.
