AN EXPLANATION. Wxllxngton, October 1 ; £The fo' lowing irf< rmitlon h^s haen supplied regarding the rise m New Z altnd Inscribed stock :— When the last New Zealand loan was floated a premise Was given not to put another loan on the I market until after the present month (October). The fear of this loan being brought has kept down the price of New Zealand stock notwithstanding that the half yearly dividend was approaching. The arrangements made by the Colonial Treasurer to place money iv London and to obviate the necessity of floating a loan for some months has already •ent op the price of New Zealand Btock a bhlf per cent, and it is likely to rise within the next few weeks two per cent, at least, additional.
