The Hospital and Charitable Aid B >ard held a Bpeoial meeting m Committee this evening to diecuoa the queetion of the management of the Hospital, the medical staff of that institution being also present On resuming, the Board adopted the ocndltlons of the appointment of a Honae Surgeon to have sole control of the Hospital and the two i ßefoges attaohed to the Institution. It waa also dtcided to iovite applications for the poaition, the successful candidate to take office on the lot January next Wellington, S aptetnber 28 la conspqaence of the illness of Mr Justice Johnston, the Chief Justice takes the criminal sessions at Ohriatchurch. Etjnedin, September 28 la tha Supreme Court to-day Justice Williams delivered judgment m the case of Sutherland v Neill. Sutherland had brought an action for libel against Dr Nelll, because the doctor, aa Superintendent of the Lunatic Asylum, had caused to be inserted m a letter forwarded to otber superintendents a statement of reasons for {Sutherland's dismissal. Sutherland recovered damages, but defendant moved to have plaintiff uotuulted. His Honor now nonsuited Sutherland, with costs. Sir R. Stout left late this afternoon for Wellington m the Tarawera.
