Str ut ti being circulated for signature :— " Sir, we, the undesigned electors of DuoediD, beg to tender you an expression of oor sincere Borrow at the lobb tho colony h a sustained thr.ujh being deprived of your services m Parliament, and we slao ventur6 to expreaß the hope, and hereby moat strongly urge, that you will rec-n alder your decision to retire from pubic life. We hope that you will oonilder that yoar private opinion and private wish should give way to the interests of tho colony, for we fully believe that your aei vices m Parliament are of tho utmost importance to the welfare of the people m the present political crisis, and abbouph the electors of Dunedln East have lost the opportunity of retaining joa as their representative, you will see fr m this requisition that you still possesß the thorough coifile:ce cf the elec'ors of Dunedin.
