* At the National Agricultural Society's show, Melbourne, they bad a milk and butter con beat for a £20 prize The oowa were milked dry one night, and then for the next two days they were twioe milked ; the milk m the four milkinga was weighed and made into butter. The cows enteied gave from 46 to 124 lbs of milk. The winner was a pure Ayrshire, which gave 107flba cf milk, 12lba of cream, from whloh 71b 11£ z of butter was obtained. The second priza cow gave 128lbB of milk but the yield of butter , was 4 b 11| z batter. The winner's record is said to have never been equalled.
