The market remains finm. -' The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cable message from London, dated September 20th, 18 87:— Wool— Since the opening of the sales fongstaple merino light m grease has advanced j£d per lb, while medium and inf erior greasy has declined }£d (nearly), and inferior scoured merino has dccli ned id per lb. For superior scoured merino the market is easier, and for other descriptions unchanged. Wools of a faulty character are neglected. Thie total quantity catalogued to date is 135,900 bales, and withdrawn 17,000 bailes. 'Wheat — New Zealand long-beiried is worth 31s 3d per 4961b5, _ , . , , ,
