THE JUDGE AND THE BOOTS
Auckland, September 12 Juat before the Supreme Coqrt adjjurned for lunch to-day, a constable made his appearance, bearing m his hanr s a pair of boots and a letter. The envelope was handed to the Judge, who, upon reading the note, bur t into laughter. It transpired that the Foreman o£ the jury had by mistake pat on another ptraoo'a boots this morning at the Imperial Hotel, whore tho jury are lodging. lv order to effect a change permitfon had to bu objbiined from the Judge, It was promptly granted.
