John Scott, a reiident of Brunnertoa, wasehargsd before the Resident Magis tnte this afternoon with seuding a telegram signed with a fictitious name, being % breaoh of the 31st section of the Sleetrfo Line* Aofc. 1884. The telegram WM to hit wife, who had left him, and purported to be signed by the Rev Mr Anderson, Presbyterian minliter, requestlag an interview. Defendant had been lateral limes to the minister to ask him to nse his lofiaenea to get hlB wife to return to her husband, which shedeolined to do. Scott was fined £5, or given the option of a month's imprisonment, and ordered to pay all the a sta.
