HORBB MARKET. Mr T. Bullock reports for the week •ndifig Saturday, Soptembei 3rd, as fol lowa.— Sixteen hones ware entered for the dny's Ml*. For the medium draughtß biddings was keen, and those offered realised full Yalaet . There were no firßt-class draughts brought forward. Out of the 16 ontered 11 were sold at the following pricos, viz : —Medium draughts of a light description, 4-year-olds, £20; 6-3 ear-old, £16, £16 ; aged, of a fairly good Btarr.p, £15 6s ; light harness horses, unbroken, 2 and 3 year-olds, £5 to £10, according to description ; hacks, £5 to £7. I sold the thoroughbred mare "Queen of Clubs," for 30 guinea, and "The Lass" brought 11 guineas, for medium draughts suitable for farm work, there were again several buyers who could not be supplied. LAND AND PROPERTIES. During the last month few sales have been affected. There have been'oumorous enquiries for small holdings near town to lease, hot few eligible properties are offering. I have leased a farm of 126 acres, with improvements, near Tinwald ; alio suburban residence on the East Town Belt at satisfactory rentals. On Satur d»y, August 20th, I Bold town Bection 48, deposited plan 229, containing j-L.cre, Hinds, with small cottage thereon for the gum of £55, and on Saturday, 27th August, 2 sections at Whoatstone, with buildings thereon, formerly the Wheat ■tone Hotel, for £95, and privately, Lot 127, Tinwald, £8 ; also Lot 36, contain ing £-acre, Church street, Hnmpstoad, on which is erected 2 cottages, for the sum of £60cuh. MONEY FOR INVESTMENT ON MORTGAGE. There is a fair amount offering, but lenders are extremely cautious as regards ■counties. Several loans have been negotiated bearing interest at from 7 to 8 per cent, according to the class of security, but as the banks have lowered tho rates en deposits, there is a likelihood of slightly lower rates being accepted.
