OTAGO V. WELLINGTON. Wellington, September 4. The match between Otagoand Wellington was attended by between 3000 and 4000 people. The day was sunny, and the ground m fair condition The sides turned oat to be so evenly matched that no score resulted, and neither side oonld be said to have bad the bett of it. There was no etartling individual play. The looal men were not in -such ttim as they were against Canterbury, want of practice being very apparent m several Instances. There was some excellent dribbling, particularly by Morris, of Otago, but <f Jonning and passing little or nc rv. The Otago three quarters were very slow, and the bulk of the work behind the scrimmages devolved on Fraser and Thomson, who played a 6ne game. On the local side Merlet, m a similar position, was eqoallj good. On the whole the game wm interesting and well contested, but not exciting.
