NEW ZEALAND RIFLE ASSOCIATION
Timaru, September 2. A meeting of the looal membera of the New Zealand Rifle Association waa held 10-nlght to oonslder the proposals for the next meeting. The following resolutions were agreed to unanimously — "That this meeting reoommends that the Remington Lee Rlfleß only be used at the coming meeting o( the Association, provided the Executive endeavor to supply at least donble the amount of ammunition now promised to competitors within two months of the meeting being held ; that m future years, after 1888, all vo'unteer membera attend Ids; the meetings prodaoe a certificate of efficiency ; that there be only one ohampionahlp, and that the longest distance be 800 yds ; that tbe meeting be held m January of 1883 ; that it be recommended to the Ooudoll that company team matches be continued, that the best thanks of Volunteers are due to the Council for having succeeded m obtaining reliable rifles, thereby plaoing all competitors on an equality, as well as removing the neoesßlty foe continuing separate championships."
