ALLEGED MURDER BY BOYS
At the Thames Polloe-cour l, Thomas Fonwiok, James Oarroway, and Edward M'Namara, were obarged with violently assaulting a lad named Frederick Kelly, aged 14.— Deteotlve-Sergeant EL Dock stated that Kelly died m the London Hospital, from the supposed effects -of the assault. Edward Qatcoe, of Grosvenorbuildings, Manistystreet Poplar, stated that he saw Kelly come oat of hU houie. The prisoners went over to him and one felt ia his pockets. Kelly struck Fenwlok, when the other two " pitched Into" him. All four of them fought for about fir* ralnuffis Kelly rushed at tbe aide of hit house, but could not get In. The thru lads then " paid" him again— thoy etruok him with their fists. Kelly'i mothtf oame out, and the prison en ran away, they Btruck Kelly about the face. He did not see one of the boys knoofc Kolly'i head against the brick wall. — Oarroway: At first we were all playing. — Deteotlve* Sergeant Duok, X division said : " About half past eleven on Taesday morning la company with Sergeant Bread, he went' to M'Namara's house, and told him ht would be charged with being concerned witb two other boys m assaulting a lad named Kelly." He said "We wen standing altogether, I went over to Kelly. He got hold of me and knocked my head against the wlndow-iiil. Fenwlok and Oarroway then oame orer. Fenwlok hit Kelly m the ear, and Oarroway hit him m the eye." Later on the other twa prisoners gave themselves up. When tbey were charged together Fenwlok laid, " We were all playing, and Kelly hit ray oousln M'Namara. J went over to him and struck him In the oar." Oarroway said, " Kelly ntruok M'Namara, and I hit Kelly with my open hand m th« eye." Mr Lushington ordered the parents of the prisoners to be bound over to pro due* them In a week's time.
