Auckland, August 27. The schooner Mariner has been wrecked near Whangarei, with a cargo of timber, owned by the Anckland Timber Company and insured for £250 m the South British. Wellington, August 28. The regulations for the parcel post system were issued to-day, but It is not settled when the system .will oome into! operation. Keep it Dark, 95t z» of retorted gold from top plates only, progress cleaning up. The export of coal and ooke has been increasing of late. Three thousand tons used to be the maximum quantity per week, but the last few weeks there has been oonslderablly more. The export last week was 4272 tons, Th» Grey District Building and Investment Society, at their annual meeting, recommended a dividend at the rate of 11 per cent on Olaßa A and B shares.
