(iPBCIAL TO PRBBB ASSOCIATION.) London, Angaat 23. Messrs Kains and Jackson estimate the English wheat crop at over 31 bushels to the acre. Several others place the average higher. The barley yield is slightly and the oats crop considerably under the average. Beet sugar is quoted at per ton.
One hundred pockets of new season's Kentish hops, chiefly Prolifics, have been offered at the Borough sale. The market was dull, puces ranging from £3 to £$ per cwt.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received a cable message from London as follows : —
August 33rd, 1887. Wool. — The Antwerp sales are lower. Australian sorts have declined j4d per lb since close of the London sales.
Wheat— Market is flat. The bulk of the harvest has been secured m good condition. New Zealand wheat of average quality is worth 32s per 4061b5. Oats — Arrivals of Russians oats are heavy, and market is lower.
