Dukbdin, August 24, In the Supreme Court to-day, '•»' applioatlon was made for a nonsuit In tha case of Sutherland v Neill. The plaintiff had bean an attendant at the Seaoliffe Asylum, and be brought the action against "'"< Dr Neill for libel. A verdict was given for £5. The nonsuit was moved on the ;. groun I ihat the libel was not proved, end If it was th ■♦ it was privileged. rolls was reserved for the .next sitting of the Appeal Court, , It appeared that the solicitor took £10 to put a man through <he Bmkroptoy Court, but filed the petition by mistake at Dunedin Instead of at Oamaru. The bankrupt paid another £5 to hare tha petition filed et. Oamarti, which was done, but no fees were paid. After a lot of correspondence the bankrupt referred the matter to the Law Society, who are now taking these steps.
