COLONISATION.
London, August 15. In the House of Commons to-day, Mr Kimber, the member for Wandsworth, asked the Government whether the question of colonisation, based on the principle of funds being provided by public subscriptions of marketable stock, had been discussed with the colonial Governments. The Hon W. H. Smith, m reply stated that the question had not been so discussed, but the Imperial Government would enquire as to the views of the colonies m regard to the proposal.
