« Cjiuiptohuroh, August 8. At the Police Court to-day, before Messrs R. Wootenra. J, V. Robs, and J. G. Ruddenklau, J.P'a., Chas. . Thomas Harris and Thomas E Potter, were charged with laroeoy of gooda value £45 11b 6d, the property of the Drapery Importing Oompmy, ou or abont Jane, 1887. John Wilson »nd David hlanka w«re charged with receiving, with the oxoeption of some eilesia, knowing the quods to have been stolen, valuo £41 4i. Harris and Potter had bean atoremau and assistant etoreman at D. 10. They were arrested on simpleton last week, and Harris made a confeaaion, implicating tho others. Potter afterwards corroboratad this. The oaao lasted all day. Accused were committed for trial. Ii ia utatoct that Mr Alan Scott, general manager of tho Midland Railway Company, has revived a cablegram that the new contract between the Government and the Oomoany ban been settled.
