Mmra H. Mateon and Go report upon the live stock market for the Ashburtori district for the week eudiag August 2nd,. as followß :— On Tuesday at the Tiavrald yards we held our usual weekly sale of sheep, catHe and pfga. The ontry fjr the day comprised 2803 Bbeep and about 40 head of cattle Stock of all descriptions looked wretched owing to the hoavy rain of Monday night, and a'thcujh prices maintained the late rise, several lots were turiisid out uaßild. The attendance was not very larga. The following were the prices realised. Fat crossbred ewes m prime condition, l(b to 10a 5d ; crossbred ewes and wethers medium quality, 8s 61 to 8a 9d. In scores a particularly well gr»z)d lot of wethers. and ewes, two and four-tooth, llv; crossbred hoggetts, 7a to 7s 10a ; cioatbred ewes In Jamb, &j 6d to 7s 6d.- Tn fat cattle, a very doll aaale Fat hefera, £3 10a to £5 10a ; Springers, £4 03 to £6 ; yearlings, £1 8«,
