PECULIAR ACCIDENT.
♦ Auckland, August 3. A at range accident occarrad last night to a boy named M'Guora. He was riding along the Onehnnga road, when he saw a small paper parcel lying on the road. He picked it up, but he had not gone very far when the parcel exploded. The lad immediately beoame enveloped In flames, I whilst the horse bo'ted for home. On > arriving there the lad was found to have i sustained tevere m juries from burning, i and the home was m a pitiable condition. < It appears the boy bad been m a < swamp, cutting, flix, and his clothes < were saturated with water. It is supposed i that the combustible, getting damp from i the wet clothn, exploded. j
