A Mad Freak. Auckland, August 2. Two jockeys James Oleary and Frank Groeu, were arrested at Elleralie last night charged with putting a track on the tail* w*y line at Ellerslle on 20 met to obstruct an engine, and with wilfully breaking a door the property of .Tamos Campbell, licensee of tho EllersUe Hotel. A serious aooident was narrowly averted as the engine driver had just time to draw up the train, having observed the obstruction on the line, Tho prisoners appaared at the Police Court this morning and were remanded. State School?. 'Dumedin August 2. At the invitation of the " Star " the Sohool Inspectors and teaohers of the prinoipal city and country schools met last < night and discussed Bishop Neville's address.' Without exception, they gave an emphatic dental to the statements, &■>& asserted that the moral tone and behaviour of sohool children were satisfactory and constantly being raieed.
