In the Commons to-day Sir J. Fer> gusson, the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, made a statement regarding the negotiations which were proceeding between England and France m reference to the New Hebrides, together with the negotiations regarding the other islands of the Western Pacific^ He announced that the Government strongly urged France to fulfil her obligations m connection with the New Hebrides, as the question bad been too long pending, and he had used erery effort to bring the negotiations to a -conclusion.
