Taubanga, July 27. Fish are so plentiful that they are selling at half-a-orown a cart load, Wellington, July 27. The Walrarapa Poultry Show waß oponed at Masterton Drill- shed yesterday, and was a great success. Tho entriea were numerous, and the quality of exhibits was exoellent. Most of tho prizes were carried off by local exhibitors, Rogan and Co. , of Wellington being fairly successful, W. L. Curtis took the majority of the pr!_3B for pigeons, and Hyde and Robb for oanarles. The case ef Northern Land, Loan and Building Company againßt the City Advanoe and Deposit Company m the Supreme Court oonoluded to-day, his Honor reserving judgment. ! Ann Parker, charged with stealing a watch from a body waabed ashore, was sentenced to a month's imprisonment. Two hundred and eighty pounds of gun cotton, m four chargos, were fired at the submerged hulk of the Ell Whitney off the end of the Railway Wharf this afternoon: The explosion was felt over a great part of the town, and a large number of fish was killed. Bat little timber came to the surface, and it ia not yet known whether the attempt has been more successful than former experiments m the same direction, Blenheim, July 27.
