A grand morning at the above sale* yards brought together very heavy - entries of all kinds of stook, the attend- • anoe of those interested being also much above the average. The following is an . epitome of the business done,Fat Caitlb. — A heavy entry, prlnoi- ' pally first class quality, and very suitable. weights. The demand, however,* was/.. only middling, and values ruled very low, not a few lots being sent out unsold. Ballooks sold at from- £5 to £7 7s 6d X and for a very heavy superior line as high as £8 15s was reached. Heifers sold at from £3 Is 6d to £6 10s per head, being at the rate of from 153 to 17s 6d per lOOlbs, ftcoofShrg to the qaality. There was a very large number of dairy cattle yarded and a fairly good demand shown. Superior cows, on the point of calving, oold at from £6 10j to £9 ; ordinary sorts from £3 15s to £5 per head.
Fat Shbep. — A very heavy entry yarded, the greater part being crossbreds of the best quality. The demand was very good from both local and export buyers, all lots selling at a slight advanoe on late quoted values. The primeat of the crossbreds sold at from 12s to 17s per head, lighter weight wethers from 9s 6d to 11b, crossbred ewes from 9a to 143 per head, merino wethers at from 5s 8d to 8s 6d per head, being from lfi to 2-f d per lb, according to quality. There waa a good master of store Bheep on offer, all lots selling fairly well, but hardly so good as might been expeoted considering the good basiuess done m the fat sheep yards. A line of 2 and 4-tooth mixed crossbreds fetched 7s 3d ; lines of young crossbred ewes, m lamb, 8s 3d and 8s Gd ; 2- tooth ewes, 7s Id, and 2-tooth wethers at 6s 6d and 7s Id ; and a line of crossbred lambs at 6s 9d and 6s lOd.
Pigs. — A heavy entry was yarded, a good portion being baconers. The demand Bhowed an improvement over recent markets, all lots selling at a slight ad* vance on late quoted values. Baconers sold at from 30b to 47s per head ; porkers at from 16a to 28 j.
