[&PZCIAL XO PRESS ASSOCIATION] London, July 17. Large American shipments have increased the visible supply 01 wheat, and off coast cargoes being numerous, there is a slack demand. The Lady Penrhyn's cargoes have been sold at 33s 3d, Castleholz's at 3d, and the Riga's at 6d more. Six Australian vessels have been withdrawn, mostly for the Continent. Eight ships are at London awaitng sale. Quotations, ex granary, are 355, ex ship, 34s 6d. The oranges by the Lusilania are m a splendid condition. 1939 cases were sold by auction, averiging 9s per case.
Dalgety and Company, Limited, hare received a cable message from their Head Office m London, under, date July 15th, as follows : — The wool sales closed firm, the lately reported rates being fully maintained ; the total quantity held over for next auctions is 30,000 bales. The next series will open on September Bth, and the total quantity estimated available for the series, inclusive of old stock, is 280,000 bales. The tallow market is weak; The wheat market is unchanged.
