NEW SCHOLARSHIPS.
Wellington, July 19. 1 The Education Department has received 1 a latter from the Agent-Ucneral, enclosing 1 prospectus of a colonial scholarship pro posed to be founded by the Oxford j Military College. Two scholarships of £60 and £25 respectively will be offered • m each of the principal colonies, tenable ( for three years ; competitors to be between , the age of 14 and 16. If the proposal ! should be approved m the colony, the College will ask the Universities of New Zealand and Otago whether they would he willing to conduct the examination of Xtaw Zealand candidates.
