Messrs H. Mation and Co. report upon the live stock market for the Ashburton district for the week ending July 12th, ai follows :— On Tuesday, at the ABhburton yards, we held our unuai weekly sale of ■heap, cattle and pigs. There was a good entry of sheep and cattle, and the attendance of farmers and dealers was •bove the average. Good young sheep were again eagerly competed for and all lines were quitted at prices 6d to Is per head m advance of last week's quotations Fat crossbred ewes realised 8s 3d to 8& 6d ; fat merino ewes, 5s 3d ; store crossbred wethers, 8s 3d to 8s 6d, m good condition ; f tir condition, 7b 9d ; crossbred ewei, 2-tooth, 7s, 6s lOd ; crossbred ewes m lamb/ 6s Id, 6b 4d to 7s ; crossbred lamb* from 3s 8d to 6s Id. In cattle, fat heifera, £5, £4 12a 6d ; and lighter weights, £3 ss, £2 12s 6d and £2 10s ; •prlngera, £3 17s 6d, £5, £5 10s. ■'■■ " ■■ ■ - J<
