A meeting of fifty electors, thoroughly reprenentative of tha Liberal. 1 , was held last night, at which it was unanimously resolved to invite Mr Ivest to c.ntest this constituency in the Liberal interest, and in the event of his consenting, the meet* ing pledged itself to use Its uttnoet efforts to aeoure his return.

A requisition to Mr Tvees is in course of Bigaature. Mr Benty Williams, who is one of the most influential residents of Napier, was ln the chair.
