ASHBURTON LIVE STOCK MARKET.
Mr E. G. Staveley (for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited) reports on the Ashburton sale of 12th inst. : — Moderate entries of stock, including some 4000 sheep. The weather exceptionally fine, and attendance good ; considerable interest taken m the sheep sale, and prices firmly maintained. Fat crosflbreds realised 8s 6d md lis 8d ; fat merino ewes 5s 3d ; 2-tooth mixed crossbreda 6s id and 7s ; do wethera 7b 9d ; aged merino ewes 2s 6d ; and wethers 2s lOd ; mixed crossbred ewea 6s Id. Strong demand for croßßbred lambs, very medium sorts making 5a 3d to 6a Id.
