The ÜBual Government inspection of the Ashburton Volunteerß'waß held on Tuesday evening, Major Douglas being inspeoting officer. The Rifles mustered 10, Captain Dolman, and the Guards 35, Captain Sparrow. The companies were exeroised m battalion drill by Major Douglas, and musketry instruction by Captain Dolman , and Sergfc.Major Hayes. We understand a new target for the use of the volunteers, arrived m Ashburton yesterday, and will be erected m a few days.
