AUCTIONEER'S REPORT.
Mr Peter Williams (for Friedlander Bros ) reports for the week ending Tuesday, 28 th June, 1887 :—
Owing to the very wet weather on Friday, 24- h inst., wo did not hold our weekly akin sale.
Oa Saturday, 25th, we opened the new portion of our horse b;z\ar. Our entry consisted of 16 horaea, 10 of which were from the south, being the second lot Mr Robert Gctwn haa brought up, and judging from tie ompeiltlon and the prices ob tamed, Mr Uawn i« to be congratulated on bringing such good atook Into tht> AU ' trlot. The 10 horaea averaged £23 15 «, j and the following prices were obtained : — £20, £22, £21, £21, £23 10s, £22 10b, £21, £40 10a, £22, £24 A black filly, Miss Glaßgow, 3 yeara old, by Glasgow, an imported home, out of Bell, an imported mare, was greatly admired. The biding for th : B filly was v*ry keen, and aftei a spirited ran at 10i bidß, she was knocked down to Mr Max Fried lander at £40 10s, who, we hope, will win honors with her yet m our show yards. We also sold on aocount of other vendors, medium draught at £8, £11 10a, £12, and £14 10«.
Cattle. — Cows coming to calv'ng, £3 to £4 ; yearlingo, 15s. Previous to the sale of horses we offered by order of the mortgagee, Mr Thomas Magee's farm of 115 acres, but this not reaohlng the vendor's reserve the property was paeßod m.
At the Ashburton yards oa Tuesday, the 28th mat , owing to the inclement state of the weather, the entry was small ; also the attendanco was small. About 1600 sheep, 31 head of cattle, and 38 pigs were brought forward. Good young sheep were iv demand. Fat mixed oroeebreds, 7a 3d to 8j; dry crossbred ewes, 6a 7d ; 2 tooth oroasbred wethers, 6i lOd ; marino ewea, m lamb, 33 8d ; medium crossbred lambs, 4s 6d to 5a Cd ; fat cowp, £5 17s 6d to £6 2s 64 ; forward Bt«ers, £4 to £5 2i 6 1. A line of 28 bacon pigs fetched 275 ; Btore pigs, 10a to 16s.
