THE EGYPTIAN CONVENTION.
The f< Morning Post" today states, fa regard to the difficulty relating to the Egyptian Convention, that France has threatened a rupture of relations with Turkey, and to renew her claims to the wardship of the holy places m Syria if the Convention is ratified. The same paper also states that Russia is demanding of Turkey, as compensation, the direction of affairs at Erzeroum, Asiatic Turkey, and that the Porte has asked England whether she will fulfil the Cyprus Convention if Turkey ratifies the Egyptian agreement.
