THE JUBILEE.
Ohbistchubch, Jane 22: This evening teveral hundred reipeot> able poor were entertained at • free tea by the congregation of the Wesleyan Church. ' Several illuminations were repeated tonight, Ie is proposed to have another general Illumination on Saturday, Invjsboargili, May 23. The Jubilee celebrations, for which splendid weather has been experienced, olosed [yesterday when the Mayor (Mr Alfred Tapper) entertained the tohool children, between six and nine yean of age, at tea In the Garrison Hall. The entertainment proved an Immense sneeen, fully 800 little ones Bitting down at iev«a long tables which were well stooked with good things. A large number of Itdiet and gentlemen waited on the ohlldren, whose delight was undoubtid. At inter* vals the band played and songs were sang. An ett irtainment was subsequently given, to which children up to 14 yean wet* admitted. Thlt was attended by 15C0. On leaving, the youngsters wero prMtnttd with Jubilee medals. The affair li unanimously declared to have been the beat «n£ most happily conceived and ex«outal of »H the looal celebrations. .
