WONDERFUL SURGERY
- ' +■ — The Now Bedford correspondent of the 11 Cincinnati Inquirer" says : — "The buocess of a wonderful Burgical operation, performed m this city nearly a year, ago, .has just been demonstrated. Seventeen years ago Edward X Russell met with an accident by which the tendons m one of his legs were severed, rendering the limb useless. The operation consisted of the transferring of two tendons from a dog, which had been etherised for. the purpose to Huasell's limb, where they wore united with tho severed tendons m. that member. For ten months after the operation Russell was not allowed to put his leg to tha ground. He hag now re. I snmod his work, and has complete control ' of the limb, tho operation having proved to be an entiro oucoeas. This is the first time that* this operation has been per- ; formed m this country, though it ha 3 been previously attempted with only partial Bucceas."
