ASHBURTON STOCK SALES.
Messrs H. Mataon and 00, report upon the stock market for the Ashburton discriot for the week ending June 14th as follows ; — On Tuesday at the Tlnwald yards we held our usual weekly sale of sheep, cattle, and pigs. There was a fair entry of all description of atook, and tho attendance of farmers and dealers was quite up to the average; The entry for the day comptised about 2500 sheep, 60 head cattle, and 20 pigs, of which we offered 1607 sheep, 24 head cattle, and 3 pigs at the following prices :— Fat crossbred ewes, aged, 5s Id, 5s 2d, 5i Bd, and 6s 3d; merino ewes, 3a 8d to 4i 61 ; stores, 2, 4, and 6 tooth ewes and wethers, 6s lid ; 2, 4, and 6 tooth withers. 7s Id ; aged crossbred ewes la lamb, 3s 8 1 ; crossbred lamb?, poor condition, 3s 6a. In cattle : Fat heifers, £4 10) to £4 12s 65 ; springers, £7 'o £7 si ; cows, £3 to £4 5), In pigs : Bacon er, £1 9i to £2.
