THE QUEEN'S JUBILEE.
The Jubilee Committee met last night m the Upper Room of the Borough Coonoil Chamber, Mr 0. N. Purnell oooapied tbe chair, and there was a good attendance of the members of Committee. Mr Pernell reported having visited Rakala-, . and had an interview with Mr Fyke, the Chairman of Sohool Committee there, who informed him that probably 160 ohlldren would be present here on Monday - if the railway arrangements and weather were suitable. The offer of the railway goods shed was accepted with think*, and * it was also deolded to. interview Mjf, £ Bullock for use of his Aroade building! In event of wet weather not allowing (he Saleyardo to be used. . , It waa resolved* that the railway fare* for teachers and obildren be advertised In the " Mail " twd " Guardian." and also ft general inrftatlon to all sohooli ; In the oounty to take part In tbe procession and demonstration, also for the National Anthem to be pot m the papers as it It to* .be sung on Monday. Arrangemen.t& were • made for Illuminations, if possible, to- . include the electric light from the Woollen Factory, and gas stars at juncture of ; West and Burnett streets: The Fire Brigade also had a meeting last evening and arranged details of toreh-Ught pro* cession, and also for both brigades to turh oat with as bo any members as p»t«lbl* m fall uniform and with both engine^ they also arranged for firemen's oompe* tition and display on Show Ground duriug the day, The torchlight piooel* alon is to start from the Fire Brigade Station on Monday at 7 p.m. thence up Ooss street out of Peter street, down East street to Moore street, up West street to east side of Baring square wesi where the display of fireworks is to take plaoe under the control of the brigades, all the friendly nooieties are invited to take part m the torchlight procession and display of fireworks! . '
