AN AUCKLAND POLITICAL PROGRAMME
• Auckland, June 16. At the meeting of the fiaandal and Political Reform League, an amendment was proposed that fcho polioy of the Aesootatlon shall Include the reduction of future Governors' salaried ti £5000, the number of paid Ministers to four, the number of representatives to be roduoed to fifty, tho abolition of honorarium for members of the Oounoll, of pensions, sinecures, etc., where possible. It was resolved to oppoae any Ministry not m favor of reduolng tho cost of Civil Service 25 per oent, the reduction of the Education vote 25 par cent, the abolition of Education Boards, the abolition of the. Property tax, the substitution of a land fix, if necessary, the stoppage of railway construction where possible for three ye»rß, the opening of village settlements everywhere, the reduction of all taxation, the reduction of the Gastoms tariff, and the readjustment of items to foster all possible losal industries. Social questions were not included m the programme, acd the discussion on the policy proposed was adjourned till next sitting.
