We have been asked to publish tho follow* ing hymn whioh has been written by Aroh. deaoon Harper, of Timaru. Fifty years since all our nation, With ona voice of acclamation, Led our Sovereign to the throno : Fifty years ! m exultation, Bound the throne, with jubilation, Still we claim her as our own ! Fifty years of joy and sorrow, Midday splendour, evening shadow, Clouds, yet ever rain-bow spanned : Fifty yea. j of royal duty, Royal burdens, ever nobly Borne for our old Fatherland 1 Fifty years of homely story, Better far than martial glory, Victory by land or sea 1 Fitly years ! yet all havo praised thee, Maidon, wife, and mother, queenly Grace of truth and purity 1 Fifty years 1 a record glorious, Venture of strong hearts, victorious, Pioneers from pole to pole 1 Lonely wilderness subduing, East and west fair wealth pursuing. And where southern waters roH ! Fifty years 1 a royal nation, Moving to its destination, Of World-Wide Imperial sway 1 Slay Almighty God who ruleth A.l things as His wisdom ohooseth, Guide and keep us on our way 1 And hereafter, Lord Almighty, Slay we, we who gladly praise Thee For the blessings of the past, "Whatso'er our earthly story, Queen and people, m Thy glory, Keep our jubilee at last {
