London, May 31.

Bishop Barry, of Sydney, addressing the ladies' department of King's College; Cambridge, declared that drinking was carried on to a greater extent m New South Wales than m England, especially among the higher grades of society. Sensual vices and the spirit of lawlessness were also more prevalent m that colony than at Home, but the material and intellectual progress of the colonists was undoubted.
