HORSE MARKET
Mr T. Bullock reports for the week ending Saturday, May 23th : —There was about an average attendance of farmers and others- There was a large entry of horses for the day's sale, v'z , 44. The medium, draughts offered were not of such » good stamp ac those at previous sales, consequently lower figureß were obtained. For light harness horses, of whioh there was more than an average number, biddings were languid and the roservea plaoed upon a number of them were fxsesslve. Owners appeared to expect similar prioes to theje obtained a few Greeks ftgo for a better class, otherwise mote would have changed hands. Twenty four oat of the entry of 44 were sold as follow*, viz .-medium draughts of a light .description, £12 10a, £13 10s' 10-, £16, £17} aged £9 10s £10; do, of a good stamp, £12 ; inferior, £6 lOi, £7 10s ; 3-year-olds, unbroken, £15 10s, £16, £J6; light harness horsee, £4 G»0, £8 6s, aud for a fairly good stamp ip to £13 10a was obtained ; backs, £4, £5 sb, £6 10s, and a five-year-old mare brought £11 ; eorubbers from £1 153 to £3. Harness, sundries, etc,, at nnrket ratei.
